Context

  • The owner wants to publish this site as a documentation platform for the packages and projects of Nepalese developers all over the world, under the name Nepal Dev Verse, and has supplied the nepal-dev.com logo in temp/logo.svg. They asked for references to the maker to become nepal-dev.com, with a footer credit to nepal-dev.com and "made with ❤️ by Puncoz Nepal".
  • The name appears through appName in src/lib/shared.ts. The maker appears through owner in the same file: the star's label, the footer's credit, the page metadata and the JSON-LD.
  • What was measured of the logo:
    • It is 1.6 MB of SVG, 551 paths, 1395 by 1127: a mountain range with circuit traces, Nepal's flag on the summit and the wordmark nepal-dev.com.
    • On the site's dark ground (#0a0c10, the default theme) the navy nepal and .com, the cursor and the mountains' outline nearly vanish.
    • At 48px the wordmark cannot be read; at 16px the artwork is a smudge.
  • Nepal's flag holds a moon above a sun. The site's sidebar already uses a sun for Use and a moon for Maintain, and its version lines are moons (ADR-0017), so the flag sits well in this site's own language. ADR-0037 builds on that.
  • Today the content is this site's own documentation only, and only the owner reviews and commits what reaches content/ (ADR-0010).

Decision

The name

  1. The site is Nepal Dev Verse. appName becomes Nepal Dev Verse, wherever it reaches today: the wordmark, titles, share images, the manifest, and the heading of llms.txt and llms-full.txt.
  2. This site's own docs are Nepal Dev Verse Docs. The project with the slug docs takes that title in its meta.json and overview. The slug and every URL stay: /docs, /docs/maintain/….

What it says it is

  1. The home line reads: "Every package and project by Nepalese developers all over the world, documented to the version." It is the hero's heading, with documented to the version. as its emphasis, the home share image's headline, set smaller to fit, and the manifest's description.
  2. The home page's title is Nepal Dev Verse — packages and projects by Nepalese developers. The full line is too long for a search result.
  3. The star is nepal-dev.com. ADR-0017's metaphor stands, with the community in the maker's place: the star on the home page is labelled nepal-dev.com, and the Verse view's plain sentence names it.
  1. The original is kept, unchanged, at assets/nepal-dev-logo.svg, as the master. It is not served and not published. The owner removes temp/.
  2. A small summit-and-flag mark is redrawn from it for everywhere the site shows a brand: about 2 KB of inline SVG in src/components/brand-mark.tsx, with a central peak, two shoulders, the snow, the logo's red face and one teal trace, all flying the flag.
    • The flag keeps its own colours in both themes, and is never restyled. Its shape, the moon above the sun, comes from the logo.
    • The rock follows the theme: the logo's navy on the light ground, a lifted blue from the logo's palette on the dark one, with at least 3:1 against the ground.
    • It stands in the site header, src/app/icon.svg, src/app/apple-icon.tsx, the share images and the footer's credit. At 16px the trace is left out and the flag simplified, so the favicon stays readable.
  3. The Verse mark stays as a place, not a brand: only in the scale strip, for the Verse level.

The credit and the references

  1. The footer's credit reads: "Part of nepal-dev.com. Made with ❤️ by Puncoz Nepal.", with the mark before it. nepal-dev.com links to https://nepal-dev.com and Puncoz Nepal to https://puncoz.com.
  2. Page metadata and JSON-LD name nepal-dev.com: authors, creator and publisher, article:author, and an Organization with its URL in place of the owner's Person, with no sameAs because no profile is known. Per-entry authors wait for the contribution ADR (decision 13).
  3. The public address is https://docs.nepal-dev.com, still from SITE_URL; ADR-0035's rules for it are unchanged. The owner adds the DNS record and sets the variable.

What stays

  1. Puncoz Nepal stays in the footer's credit, as @puncoz in ADRs (ADR-0020), and as the owner in the working documents. Approved ADRs keep the names they were written with. The repository and package names, the GitHub link, the Algolia index and the environment variables are identifiers and do not change here.
  2. This is the identity, not the platform's workings. How other developers contribute, who reviews them, and showing who built each entry all wait for their own ADR. Until then ADR-0010 stands and the owner remains the only reviewer. The private projects beyond the belt stay as they are, invented, by the owner's choice.

Consequences

Positive

  • The site says what it is for, and looks like part of nepal-dev.com, on every page and every shared link.
  • The next step, inviting other developers, starts from a name and an identity that already fit.

Negative / accepted trade-offs

  • The words go ahead of the content: the home page says "by Nepalese developers" while one project, this site, is documented. It also shows invented private projects under that name.
  • The long home line takes more of the first screen, most of all on phones. It is measured at 320px and 390px during implementation.
  • The original logo adds 1.6 MB to the repository, and so to every consuming submodule's checkout.
  • The repository and GitHub names keep the maker's name until the owner renames them.
  • The full logo appears nowhere on the site itself; only the mark drawn from it does.
  • Nothing has been said here about whether https://nepal-dev.com is live. The owner confirms it before publishing, because the credit links there.

Content invariants

None is departed from. §6.1 stands: nothing private goes into content/, and the belt's names stay invented. No page moves, so §6.5's Markdown surfaces keep working; they take the new name. The search index takes it on the next publish, which only the owner runs.

Security considerations

  • No new endpoint, secret or third party. SITE_URL changes value, not handling, and stays public.
  • Two external links in the credit, both fixed, with rel="noreferrer noopener".
  • The logo master is not served, so it adds no surface. It was read before use: paths and masks only, with no script, external reference or embedded raster image. The mark is hand-drawn and inline.
  • A community name raises the stakes of §6.1. The invented private projects could be read as real community projects; private-projects.ts's rule stands, and the contribution ADR must revisit it.

Implementation notes

  • src/lib/shared.ts: appName; owner split into community and maker, with no other change in who reads what except as decisions 9 and 10 say.
  • assets/nepal-dev-logo.svg, byte for byte (decision 6). temp/ is left for the owner.
  • src/components/brand-mark.tsx, with its tokens; src/app/icon.svg, src/app/apple-icon.tsx, src/components/site-header.tsx, src/components/share-image.tsx. verse-mark.tsx stays for scale-strip.tsx.
  • src/app/(home)/page.tsx, src/components/share-image.tsx, src/app/manifest.ts: the home line and title. src/components/home/hero.tsx and orbit-map.tsx: the star's label and sentence.
  • src/components/horizon-footer.tsx: the credit. src/lib/seo.ts, src/app/layout.tsx: decision 10.
  • content/docs/meta.json, content/docs/index.mdx: the title and prose. .env.example: unchanged.
  • Tests (ADR-0007): the name and the project's title; no earlier name left in src/, content/ outside approved ADRs, or the living documents; the credit's words and two links; the mark's contrast in both themes and its small form; the Organization; the share image's headline staying clear of the system.
  • Looked at, in Chrome on localhost against bunx next build: the header at 320px, 390px and wide; the hero's line in both themes; the favicon at 16px; the share images; the footer's credit; llms.txt.
  • bun run test, bun run types:check and bunx next build pass; bun run lint is reported while it stays blocked.

What the build added or changed from the above, and what was measured:

  • src/components/brand-mark.tsx redraws the flag by hand to the logo's proportions rather than using its paths: the logo is 1.6 MB and 551 paths, with no script, external resource or raster, and its flag alone is 83 auto-traced paths. src/lib/flag.ts and src/components/nepal-flag.tsx hold the flag, shared with ADR-0037's Horizon.
  • The hero's line takes max-width: 19ch and a smaller minimum, clamp(1.85rem, 1.5rem + 2.1vw, 3.4rem): six lines at 320px, five at 390px, three at 860px, four on a wide screen, with no sideways scroll. The share image's headline is 54px.
  • In Chrome the longer project name crossed the empty orbits' names on a phone, so orbit-map.tsx draws a planet's name with a halo in the ground colour. With many planets on a phone the names still crowd each other as they turn; that is ADR-0032's system at that width and was not changed here.
  • src/lib/site-name.test.ts allows one exception to the old names, a row quoting ADR-0028's approved title.
  • README.md's list of decisions stopped at ADR-0028, so ADR-0029 to ADR-0037 were added to it.

For the owner after approval: set SITE_URL=https://docs.nepal-dev.com in .env.local and on the host, add the DNS record, confirm https://nepal-dev.com is live, and remove temp/.

Docs to update on implementation

  • ../app-flow/community-identity.mdx: Current, in place of ../app-flow/site-name.mdx, which is deleted; every app flow whose wireframes show the name or the earlier address, with their Archify views.
  • PRODUCT.md, DESIGN.md, .impeccable/design.json, AGENTS.md §1 and §10, README.md, PROJECT_AGENTS.md, ../architecture/system.mdx, and the PRDs and API pages that name the site.
  • "Superseded by" in ADR-0017, ADR-0028, ADR-0029, ADR-0033 and ADR-0035; ./index.mdx.
